Concept and intention
The Brussels Design Forum organised within the framework of Design September, with the support and active help of WBDM (Wallonie-Bruxelles Design/Mode), Wallonie Design, Design Vlaanderen, ABE and Base Design, has the objective of bringing together in Brussels industrial, product, and this year graphic design, experts and professionals, as well as the opinion leaders of this target group. The theme and the professonal target group change each year. In 2009, the Brussels Design Forum was the venue for the most important specialists in packaging thanks to a partnership with the Pentawards. The programme for the day and the times for breaks and refreshments are intended to initiate, develop and strengthen the economic and cultural networks between the various players in the profession. This theme embraces several categories of graphic design projects : city identity, typography, signs, posters, communication, the integration of centres and cultural festivals, business signs, mobility and safety, parallel projets, urban development … The target groupProfessional designers, heads of companies, architects, graphic design offices, advertising agencies, observers of design, professors, students, editors, journalists, and others. The Design September platform Since its creation in 2006, Design September has become a meeting place that cannot be overlooked for the design sector in Belgium. Bringing together more than 50 events in Brussels, this cultural and economic festival opens up the universe of design to the general public and promotes exchanges between the professionals. The international colloquium of Design September will therefore enjoy a context rich in exhibitions, interventions in the urban space, evening events, food design, targeted cinema programming and visual communication throughout the city.
